Do men and women train together?
Yes. Regular courses and training are mixed to provide an optimal training atmosphere. That way, women can directly practice the techniques they learn on physically stronger men.
The Women-Protect Course is reserved for women aged 16 and up.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. You will receive a certificate upon completion of a course.
What will I learn during a weekend seminar?
During a weekend seminar you will learn simple techniques whose level of difficulty can be raised or lowered as required.
- De-escalation through appropriate behaviour
- Acceptable and proportionate self-defence response in keeping with Swiss law
- Strike techniques (punching, kicking, elbowing, kneeing)
- Defence techniques
- Liberation techniques (from strangleholds and choke-holds)
- Leverage techniques (liberation, immobilisation, take-downs)
- Falls
- Fighting techniques while lying on the ground
What's the difference between the Special Courses and the Weekend Seminars?
Weekend Seminars (IWK) are perfect if you want to get a quick overview of Krav Maga Self-Protect. These courses cover a variety of topics, for example strike- and defence techniques, kicks, fighting on the floor, but also the legal aspects of self-defence (proportionality) and correct, de-escalative behaviour in threatening situations. If you don't have the time to participate in regular trainings at our school, you may choose to take the IWKs repeatedly instead, in order to train and keep fresh the techniques you've learned.
On the other hand, Special Courses (AK) focus on a single topic, for example on strike- and defence techniques. AKs build on the content taught in the IWKs. AKs are therefore a good choice for those who have previously attended an IWK or who regularly train in martial arts / self defence and would like to deepen their knowledge in a specific topic.
How can I sign up for a course?
It's easy. You can sign up online. You will get a confirmation via e-mail and through regular mail.
